About the festival
OtaFEST is a cultural celebration in Ota, Ogun State, showcasing the heritage, traditions, music, dance, traditional attire, masquerades and communal identity of the Awori Yoruba people. It serves as a gathering for indigenes and visitors to experience Ota’s rich cultural heritage and promote cultural tourism.
History
The festival is closely associated with Iganmode Cultural Festival (Odun Omo Iganmode), an annual celebration in Ota. Its first recorded edition was held in 1992, when it was known as Iganmode Day. Over time, it developed into a major cultural gathering, featuring traditional performances and Egungun masquerade displays, which hold important cultural significance in Ota
